Danyell is 30 years old. She was born with a genetic lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis (CF) (learn more at www.cff.org). She has fought very hard against this disease her entire life, however, she could not stop the inevitable from happening. In the last year her health has declined rapidly. Now due to the rapid progression of her disease, she is in desperate need of a life-saving Double Lung Transplant at Duke University Hospital within the next few months. Without this double lung transplant, she will die. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the cost of expenses to relocate to Durham (required by Duke) and for some medications that are needed before, during and after the transplant. Danyell and her husband are trying to raise $20,000 to cover the costs that insurance does not cover.
So how can you help? For one, you can go to Danyell's website and donate money. Or another really awesome way is through a fundraiser I am doing. For the whole duration of the summer: June, July, August, and most of September. I will be offering mini sessions (20-30 mins, one outfit, up to 5 people, location of your choice, includes disc of 10 images) for $75. I had originally said I would do up to 15 mini sessions, but I am willing to do more if people want to do them. The entire amount you pay will go directly to Danyell. So not only are you getting the chance to help someone in need, but you are also getting beautiful pictures as a thank you from me. Also, 10% of any of my other sessions or wedding packages that are booked for the remainder of the summer will go towards Danyell.
